SR-28.2 MEASUREMENTS
(All measurements made with Klippel Near Field Scanner in free space)
SMOOTH. ACCURATE. EXTENDED….and CONTROLLED.
The CEA2034 or “Spinorama” data encapsulates the performance of a loudspeaker in a typical room. The SR-28.2’s “On-axis” and “Listening Window” responses are ruler-flat, exactly the response that delivers accurate timbre, unmatched detail and coherence to the listener’s ears. The directivity curves reveal how well the 28.2’s horn hold it’s coverage pattern to the top octave.
EVEN THE CHEAP SEATS RECEIVE GREAT SOUND.
The SR-28.2 CEA 2034 predicted in-room response shows the benefits of its smooth response and controlled directivity: uniform, smooth, extended and accurate in-room (reverberant field included) frequency response. Smooth in-room response, with no disruptive peaks or dips such as this, sounds natural, uncolored and detailed...everywhere in the venue. Even in the cheap seats.
POWERFULLY SMOOVE.
The Sound Power response is the measure of *all* of the energy radiated by the loudspeaker and is an indicator of how the speaker will sound in a reverberant space, where the energy radiated in all directions encounters venue boundaries and is reflected back to the audience. The SR-28.2’s linear and declining-with-frequency response shows textbook performance. Your venue will sound good…everywhere.
AUDIENCE ON THE FLOOR AND IN THE BALCONY? NO PROBLEM.
The SR-28.2’s horizontal (left) and vertical (below left) off-axis responses indicate the “coverage” of the audience. The uniformly spaced responses indicate a well-controlled dispersion pattern. This means that the 28.2 can be used in portrait or landscape orientations with predictable results. Need more vertical coverage, but require smooth, accurate sound? Simply orient the 28.2 in landscape orientation and sleep well at night!
WHEN WE SAY 80, WE MEAN EIGHTY. WHEN WE SAY 60, WE MEAN SIXTY.
The directivity contour plot shows the coverage the loudspeaker visually as a rectangular “heat map”. Like the data shown in the off-axis response curves, you can clearly see that the vertical (below right) and horizontal (right) coverage are exactly to our 80 x 60 specification. You can sleep at night knowing that the sound is going where you point it.
CIRCULAR LINEARITY.
The SR-28.2 polar response plots are another way to “see” the dispersion and off-axis behavior. The 28.2’s horn offers precisely-controlled dispersion all the way to the very top audio octave.
LISTEN WITH YOUR EYES.
Here is the data shown in the Directivity Contour Plot shown again on a polar map, making it easier to “see” how the sound is dispersed from the loudspeaker itself. The 0° axis represents the axis perpendicular to the speaker baffle. The SR-28.2 coverage is very wide and uniform, and controlled all the way to the top audio octave.
